Project
The project aims to research and implement engaging and innovative uses for 3 mental sports (chess,go, draughts) that will benefit youngsters and will help them develop an array of soft skills and, at thesame time, offer them a safe space for practicing sports and promoting the importance of mentalpower in sports.
The project also includes an intergenerational aspect, as these sports offer a greatchance for participation regardless of age, offering a good platform for both parents and PEteachers/coaches to communicate with the children, as well as for youngsters and elders from thecommunities from the participating organisations to connect better.
The research will be conducted atthe level of parents, PE teachers/coaches and school psychologists and will compare the level ofinvolvement in mental sports and the level of tangible/intangible skills that youngsters develop.
Basedon the results, a training for PE teachers and coaches will be organised, so that they can further applythese good practices and offer as much and as varied help as possible for the youngsters they interact with.
